WHY CAREER COUNSELLING?
- Students in 9 – 12 Grades start making Career decisions mostly driven by parental pressure, academic performance or peer group choice which is not a scientific method. A large percentage of students regret their decision rather late in life because so much time/ money has been spent chasing a Career that they did not enjoy getting into. Imagine teaching a fish to climb a tree! The painful consequences includes inability to clear examinations, boredom, frustration, acute stress levels, associated psychosomatic diseases, drop out from college and sometimes suicide.
- It is possible for the students to explore their career match by completing our globally used online Career Evaluation Assessments with Career Counselling by Certified Counsellors. Geetanjali with their regional business associates have joined hands together to offer Career Evaluation Assessment and Career Counselling to help students make a sound and informed Career Decision in Schools and Colleges.
WHAT Career evaluation assessment DO WE OFFER?
- Interest Profiling. Vocation is an occupational interest inventory, designed to be used for Career Guidance. It helps students to narrow down occupations and plan their careers accordingly. It is based on RIASEC Model, measuring levels of interest in 12 domains and matches the Candidates profile with a list of 138 occupations across various sectors and fields. This instrument has 60 questions and it takes about 08 – 10 minutes to answer.
- Personality Profiling. BIG FIVE PROFILE is a personality assessment measuring five major personality traits based on the Five Factor Model. It provides awareness about one’s strengths and development areas to perform well in Careers. It helps in narrowing the Career Choices or build skills to pursue the chosen career. This Instrument contains 15 questions to be answered in 07 – 10 minutes.
- Reasoning Test. This Test evaluates the cognitive abilities or brain power required for jobs that demand good analytical skills. It is particularly useful for roles in a complex work environment. Typically, the measures include Figural/ Logical, Verbal, and Numerical Reasoning. Reasoning Test contains 21 questions to be answered in 20 minutes. This Test has got time limits unlike Interest and Personality profiling.
METHOD OF CONDUCTING CAREER COUSELLING SESSIONS
- Student completes the Registration
- Student completes the Online Test.
- Career Counselling by Certified Career Counsellors for 45 to 60 minutes. Parents can join in the last 15 minutes.
- Student walks out with 3 to 5 Career choices, list of strengths and weaknesses and an action plan to bridge the gap and reach the chosen Career successfully.
